Whether you’re on a cruise just for a few days, want to see a different side of Bora Bora or you’d like to save money while still seeing Bora Bora in its full beauty, I have a solution for you. ;) The Bora Bora day pass! What exactly is it and how it works? I explain everything you need to know right in this post. Just bring a cup of tea/coffee, get comfy, and read on!
Why get a Bora Bora day pass?
As it usually goes with any paradise-like location, they’re not that easy to access. The same goes for Bora Bora’s wonderland. If you come to Matira beach (Main, and only Bora Bora public beach), and expect the beach, with the mountain and overwater bungalows on the background that you saw on Instagram… I don’t like to break it to you, but you’ll be quite disappointed. All the hidden gems and postcard-perfect beaches are exclusively in the (quite pricey) resorts.
While the main beach (the free one) is still waaay more beautiful than any other average beach, don’t expect it to take your breath away. Unfortunately, the best spots are hidden mostly in the hotels areas (Check the 2 pictures below for a quick example). And that’s when the Bora Bora day pass comes in.
If you’re determined to discover and enjoy Bora Bora with all its glory while not spending a fortune for a resort stay, this is the way to go. In this post, you’ll learn everything you need to know about the day pass in Bora Bora to make the most of your stay. I’d like to show you how to experience it all. The gorgeous beaches, turquoise lagoons, dazzling views of Mt. Otemanu, luxurious SPAs, top-notch restaurants, and all the magic Bora Bora has to offer.
How to get a Bora Bora day pass to one of the top resorts?
So how can you get a Bora Bora day pass? Don’t worry it’s no science at all. All you need to do is to call or email the resort and ask if they have any day passes available. Simple as that! Here, I have prepared for you all the contact numbers and information from the resorts offering this option. Later in this post, I also include my recommendations on hotels and the exact activities you can do at each of them.
That being said, be careful! In high season the resorts might be full and not offering this option. For a higher chance of getting a Bora Bora day pass, I suggest you travel in low or shoulder season. At this time, the resorts aren’t so crowded, prices drop, and you can save even more money while enjoying the divine Bora Bora.
Here are all the resorts that allow you to book a Bora Bora day pass option:
• Conrad Bora Bora Nui
• Intercontinental Thalasso & Spa
• Le Bora Bora (Ex Pearl Beach Resort)
• Le Meridien Bora Bora (closed for renovations as I’m writing these lines – 2023)
Unfortunately, the Four Seasons Resort & St Régis Bora Bora don’t deliver day passes at the moment. If you’d like to stay there, you’ll need to book a full stay.
My favorite resorts for a Bora Bora day pass
Day Pass at the Conrad Bora Bora Nui
For those who seek the highest-class luxury, Conrad Bora Bora Nui Resort is your best bet. Conrad is a winner of Condé Nast Traveler Reader’s Choice Award, Forbes Travel Guide « recommended » award in 2020, and Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence award in 2019. Thanks to its location on a private island – Motu To’opua, you’ll experience the longest private stretch of soft white sand beaches nestled between the dazzling Mount Otemanu and a turquoise lagoon.
To unwind, watch the sunset from their impressive infinity pool, sip on a cocktail at the swim-up bar, or relax at Hina Spa located on the hilltop. Other than delightful facial massages, you’ll experience serenity and breathtaking views. For dinner, choose from their six restaurants and lounges all with mesmerizing views and exceptional locally sourced food. As Conrad puts it, at their resort you’ll find the best of both worlds – seclusion and connection – during your tropical escape.

Is a Bora Bora day pass actually for you?
If you want to save money and travel Bora Bora on a budget while still enjoying its divine luxury, then my answer is yes! Absolutely! However, if you have the time and funds, then I would recommend spending at least one night at one of the “motus resorts”. It is well worth the price. You get to enjoy overwater bamboo huts, an insta-worthy brekkie, and a luxurious night just for the two of you. Priceless memories forever!
Good to know
If you decide to go for a day pass also keep in mind that the access is never guaranteed. Usually, it’s not possible to book a day pass too much in advance of time. So if the resort ends up being fully booked during your stay you may not be able to get your access. You should see the Day Pass as a bonus during trip to Bora Bora, not a right.
Don’t ever let the price stop you from coming to paradise! ;)
If you always believed you can’t come to Bora Bora because of its high prices, then I’ve just proved you wrong. Yep, this is the way! With a Bora Bora day pass, you can experience the top-notch resorts, use their spas, visit an ecological center…
I hope this article has been helpful to you. If you have any more questions, don’t hesitate to contact me or your desired resort directly.
⚠️ Kindly note that all the prices and offers mentioned in this article are subject to change anytime.
