However, and I’m so sorry to break it out to you, there are no all-inclusive resorts in Bora Bora as you imagine them (with everything but the kitchen sink included).

But fear not; there are wonderful resorts available that offer plenty of amenities, delicious restaurants, spas, and free activities. These resorts are perfect for those seeking a holiday filled with unmatched convenience and excitement! And since they are not totally all-included I’ll share some tips to help you make the most of your budget.

What is an all-inclusive resort?

Before we dive into the best resorts in Bora Bora, let’s clarify what an all-inclusive resort actually means. An all-inclusive resort typically offer a vacation package that includes accommodation, meals, drinks (with or without alcohol), and some activities in the price of your stay. This means that you don’t have to worry about any additional expenses during your trip, making it a great option for budget-conscious travelers or those who just want to relax and not worry about anything.

Are There All Inclusive Resorts In Bora Bora?

Unfortunately, the concept of an all-inclusive resort, as we know it, doesn’t really exist in Bora Bora.

Club Med was the only one, but closed in 2009.

You won’t find any resorts in Bora Bora that provide full-board (3 buffet-type meals per day), spa treatments, or free excursions. You’ll have to cover the costs of these separately.

The remote location and small size of the island make it difficult for resorts to offer a truly all-inclusive experience at an affordable price. The food, in particular, is exorbitantly expensive in Bora Bora, even for locals, as everything is imported. However, that doesn’t mean you won’t find amazing resorts with plenty of inclusions and perks to make your stay unforgettable!

Maximizing Value at Bora Bora Resorts

While a true all-inclusive experience may not be available in Bora Bora Resorts, there are ways to get the most value for your money at these luxurious resorts.

Let’s start with accommodation : Try to snatch a good package. Resorts often run packages like “3 nights + 1 free” deals to get the best value for your money. Don’t be afraid to reach out directly to the resort to uncover any exclusive deals or discounts they might have up their sleeve! Traveling in shoulder or low season can also help get great deals. You can also save by opting for a garden bungalow instead of an overwater bungalow, as their prices are significantly lower but still offer a comfortable and beautiful stay.

Now, let’s talk about food. Trust me, dining at the resort can get quite pricey (like 45-dollars-for-a-burger pricey – Yikes!). That’s why I recommend booking a meal plan in advance. It’s the smartest move to save some cash. After indulging in the complimentary buffet breakfast, grab a few snacks, and you’ll be good to go without lunch as dinner is served at an early hour (around 6 PM). Oh, and here’s a pro tip: bring your own alcohol. I’ve actually written a whole post dedicated to this topic, with tips and limitations. Feel free to check it out if you want the inside scoop!

When it comes to activities, take full advantage of the amenities offered by the resort. Some of them have incredible inner lagoons, perfect for hours of snorkeling. And don’t miss out on the daily cultural workshops they offer; they’re a great way to immerse yourself in the local culture. You definitely won’t get bored.

Intercontinental Le Moana Bora Bora – Best Bora Bora Resort For Families

Intercontinental Le Moana Bora Bora

Located on Matira point, right next to Matira Beach, the Intercontinental Le Moana resort is a great resort in Bora Bora for families traveling together. It’s situated on the main island of Vaitape, which means you’ll be close to shops, and chill restaurants and won’t “trapped” on a motu. While it might not be as luxurious as the previous and may need some renovations as I’m writing these lines (2023) it is also one of the resort with the cheapest overwater bungalows in Bora Bora (with glass-bottom coffee tables which is pretty cool right?) Take advantage to the free kayak rent to go explore the famous coral garden nearby (yes, the one with the I love Bora Bora sign)!

Royal Bora Bora

Aerial view of Royal Bora Bora

Royal Bora Bora is another fantastic option for accommodation on the island. While it may not offer the same level of luxury as other resorts in the area, it does come at a more affordable price. You won’t find overwater bungalows here, but the rooms with air conditioning do provide a pleasant private gardens view. The best part is the cost, with rates under $300 per night, which even includes a complimentary buffet breakfast! The rooms are comfortable, and you can enjoy good internet speed. Plus, they offer free snorkeling equipment, bikes, and canoes for guests to use. Although the rooms don’t offer an ocean view, there is a swimming pool and a small private beach with sun loungers available. It is small but Matira beach is close by.

If you’re on a tight budget for your trip and plan to spend most of your days out exploring the island then The Royal Bora Bora might be a great choice for you.

Good to know that non of the “all inclusive” resorts provide full board. So that really needs to be factored into our budget. Some of my favourite hotel brands are listed – so it will require looking at all factors to make a choice. Or return several times!

  2. Elyse says:

omg this makes me want to book a trip right now. In a perfect world, I would stay at all 10! Definitely saving while I plan my trip. Thanks

Never knew there were no all inclusives in Bora Bora, still has me dreaming of an island getaway though 😆
